Shortly afterwards, in 1939, Batman entered the scene. Darker and more mysterious, this masked vigilante from Gotham City, devoid of superpowers but armed with uncommon intelligence, offers a contrasting vision of the hero. 

In 1941, Wonder Woman established herself as a powerful, revolutionary female figure. An Amazon warrior, she embodies the balance between strengh and courage, becoming an icon for generations. 

Over the decades, these characters have evolved: the realistic, detailed representations of modern comics have replaced the simple, colourful lines of the early days, and each period has enriched their graphic universe.
