The Belgian National Lottery is an important institution that has contributed to society for over 90 years. Since its foundation in 1934, the Lottery has organised various games of chance, such as lotteries and bets. The proceeds are used to support social projects with a focus on culture, well-being, health and sports.
The National Lottery falls under the supervision of the Minister of Finance, who is responsible for the general policy and operation of the Lottery. This public responsibility ensures that the Lottery makes a positive contribution to the general interest and that the proceeds benefit projects that strengthen society.

The National Lottery is much more than just playing. Every day it changes the fate of many winners and shares its winnings with the Belgian society. To celebrate this in a fitting manner, the Royal Mint of Belgium has released a very original 2 euro coin. Using the unique numbers on your coin card, you have a chance to win one of the 150 special 2 euro coins in Proof quality!
On the coin itself you see the text 'loterie nationale loterij' on the left. Below that 'BE 2025', below that the mint master's mark (an Erlenmeyer flask with an aster) and the mint mark of the Royal Dutch Mint (the Mercury staff). Centrally in the background the logo of the National Lottery, above that Lady Luck with the horn of plenty, from which a number of four-leaf clovers fall. At the bottom right 'IB', the initials of designer Iris Bruijns.
